No BB10 phones on the roadmap, No new features to BB10 on the roadmap... just two security patches.

Passport is a two year old phone, If you use apps, it hard to say what that future holds for the Passport - but it's safe to say that the Passports best days are behind it.

Only reason I'd suggest it would be if you aren't an app user and mainly want a great communications devcies - text, email.....

Beard likewise never confirmed they were making another BB10 device.
    Great PR work being done.

Does anyone know if it's possible for them to keep OS 10, and update it to allow for Android apps to run? I'm not sure how all that works, but in my mind it would be the best of two worlds - BB OS with access to ALL Android apps, not just ones from 4.3 or less...

In my opinion it's pointless to buy any current brand new BB10 phones from BlackBerry. The OS isn't being supported with any new features except for minor security and bug patches for those companies who still use them which is becoming less and less. I understand BB10 is an awesome OS with its flow but why continue to support them by buying their one year and plus phones when they dropped the ball so many times and put themselves in this situation. Like the Passport and Priv should be a lot cheaper now to get them more in the hands of consumers who still want them. They ve been out of touch for so long but especially since their debut of their over priced phones. They no longer have that brand recognition like before but still continue to charge a premium. Look at the Priv their debut of an Android phone that came with such a high price and no whatsoever marketing to inform consumers that BlackBerry came out with a Android phone. Not to mention the phone has been out since last November and ONLY now they come up with some advertising! Seriously, how out of touch are they and OMG their lateness to the market with a new OS, making BBM cross platform and etc. Too many mistakes to list and pretty much we know what they are.

For me, it's as simple as this: I have a BlackBerry now and it works for me. I purchase my devices outright and I've always wanted a Passport SE or the AT&T variance , but couldn't bring myself to risk justifying the price. The apps that are available suit my purposes, and anything else I can work around for the other benefits the device offers. So now, as long as the price drops within reason ( like they are on Amazon) , I can justify buying and using a Passport for the next 1- 2 years or so. And if the Powers at BlackBerry don't value our patronage, than I'll just use them to get where I'm going , just like they'll be using us to meet their ends. And then I'll go elsewhere, when the time comes.

I would like a Passport "paperweight"too but love my durable Z30 with a massive iTunes library on its miniSD card, all the apps I want ( news, Evernote, dictionary) and its great browser and communication ability (try retracting message, or attaching Glympse or HD pic with Whatsapp like you can on BBM). Its mature OS will serve me for years. And no, I am not interested in playing Pokmon GO or polluting my phone with a bunch of junk apps. Plus, I am cool as I am not like everyone else and also do not have to worry about getting mugged for my phone-- lol.

Something tells me there is still hope for BB10 devices. Something tells me BlackBerry will still come up with a BB10 device. Something tells me BlackBerry Passport will thrive beyond now. But I don't know if that's meant to deceive me into having false hope in BlackBerry or if it's the truth

As long as those "junk apps" aren't needed for your work, you'll survive. There's a lot more to them than catching 'em all, clashing clans, or crushing candies.

    Possible... maybe.

But the cost associated with an update to Android 5.0 or even Android 6.0 Runtime (no sure if it has been released), would be hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars. Just no reason for BlackBerry to "invest" in that expense for a platform with sales where they are today.

But too there are strong indications that any work on the forked runtime would lose BlackBerry access to Google Play Services for their Android devcies. If true, that would explain why BB10 has been left behind.

Ok, hearing voices that tell you things that aren't ture is a very scary condition. You need to talk with a doctor immediately and get help.

If you see your Passport as thriving now... you'll probably be ok in the months or years to come. Most that need apps... know it and have moved on, or are planning to do so.
