I'm on Verizon with a Curve, so until the Tour comes out, I'm sticking with my Garmin Nuvi GPS.

Google Maps is great for what it does. Especially for devices with GPS built in. But you may wanna consider some other options, like aMaze, and Life In pocket GPS, Nav4All is free until 2010 too.

I use Sprint Navigation, too, since it's included in my plan. It seems to work pretty well for my limited needs.

I mainly use Garmin Mobile. You can usually find it in the Owner's Lounge for $79 (lifetime device charge), or $99 elsewhere.

Of the free ones, amAze is probably the better one for turn-by-turn voice directions. Nav4All also does turn-by-turn, and is free until the end of the year (they are going to start charging after that). Both Nav4All and amAze don't say street names, but for free apps, they are pretty good.

Do any of these have map packets which can be pre-loaded on the SD card, such as for Europe, so as to not use roaming data?

If you were replying to my question, I believe Google Maps uses data.

I use Google Maps, mainly because it's free, made by Google, and AT&T st00pidly takes BlackBerry Maps off of the BlackBerrys branded with their name.

I was replying to original post. I assume that anyone with a Blackberry has a data plan.

Data plan is fine in the US. However, for me, GPS is most needed when I'm in international roaming territory, and data roaming rates are not fun.
