    Before anyone says it, yes I did try searching first. Maybe I was not phrasing my search properly. Anyway...

    I have read many posts where people say things like "he can't see your signature, he's using his wap browser"

    I searched online but could only find technogobbledygoop or vague nothingness. Maybe I should have tried "WAP For Dummies" So.

    1. What is a wap browser?

    2. What is the crackberry wap launcher?

    The wap browser is when someone is using their bb to log into crackberry. You can dwnld the icon application to your bb and get online to it from your bb instead of using your laptop or computer.

    All that the WAP launcher does is act like a shortcut. Point your BB browser to wap.crackberry.com and it will do the same thing.

    I have the crackberry login screen as a bookmark in my bb browser. When I access the site this way, I'm using my wap browser? My bb browser is a wap browser?

    aerophage: I tried wiki. Way too much information. I need Wap for dummies, remember?

    Yahoo!! (pats self on back) I am now an abnormal user.

    Now I get it. WAP is internet for dummies. The dummies, ironically, are our smartphones. Good link. I now understand why I needed an HTML e-mail viewer too.

    Renaming the link, now that was a thoughtful touch. Thanks aerophage.

    You can download the CB launcher that will take you straight to the wap site by clicking on the link at the bottom of the crackberry mobile home page.

    You can also go to m.crackberry.com and it will take you to the mobile edition. You can just scroll down for crackberry launcher.

    Installing and then pulling battery.
    This should be faster if it doesn't pull in as much data.

    wap is much faster than the full site, but there are some limitations:

    Can't view post counts, device info, carrier info.

    Some keyboard shortcuts I like:

    Space key = page down
    Shift + Space key = page up
    T = top of page
    B = bottom of page

    Click on the >> to take you directly to the last post in a thread.

    I am so used to watching my browser load a page in chunks of 4kb. And waiting. And waiting.

    What will I do with all this extra time? This IS much faster. I'm glad I asked and glad you all helped.

    Here's a question for you papaB... why are you using 4.5.0.77? Is that the latest official OS out for the Telus 8330?

    .77 works, .131 has nothing different to offer, so I haven't bothered to go up.

    If you ever have the speakerphone blast problem, then .131 will take care of it.

    Never had that. My only problem is the backlight lag (not a problem really), and the limitations of the processor. To play Pacman I have to use silent mode or phone locks up. I think it's more than the device can handle.
