    my brothers GF wants me to find her a used blackberry that she can use over in Germany and here in the states when she comes to visit...

    what BB's will work with her tmobile account in Germany? she wants to use 3g for sure. she loves it on her other type of smartphone.. she wants one with a physical keyboard...

    Well, there's only BOLD 9000 or BOLD 9700 that will work with 3G and have a physical keyboard.

    Why doesn't she just buy it from T-Mob DE as all their BBs are normally provided unlocked too.

    Also, please bear in-mind T-Mob US uses "different" 3G bands compared to its competitors within the US.

    Does T-Mobile over there use the same frequencies as AT&T? If so just pick up any phone you can. If it is the same 700 MHz they use here in the US then pick one up or give her one of your old ones.

    AT&T uses UMTS in the 850 and 1900 MHz bands. T-Mobile USA uses the 1700 MHz band for UMTS, and T-Mobile GERMANY has UMTS on 2100 MHz (like all of Europe). Usually, AT&T's and T-Mob USA's 3G BlackBerries also include the 2100MHz band, to allow roaming abroad. But check the specs

    PS- 700MHz will be the frequency in the USA for LTE (4G)
