I've been with BlackBerry since 2010 started with the Bold 9700 in 2011 I got the Torch 9800 this January it was time for my upgrade and upgrade to the 9900 on AT&T but short after I took it back in favor for an iPhone.
    Sad.
I just didn't want a defective phone, I don't wanna go through the bricking and stuff like that.
I didn't wanna wake up to a dead phone.
    Now? I hate the iPhone.
It's great, yes. But I miss my keyboard.
Now I want a BlackBerry again. However, not the 9900 I don't want it to brick. Would love a Torch 9810 or new low end Curve. Maybe a 9790? Or 9780. I DON'T CARE. I just don't want an iPhone. Maybe wait for a BBX phone.
    I just want my keyboard.

IF the 9790 is available in the US I'd get that, you had the 9700, and I assume you liked it, The Torch 9810 would be just like your old torch just snappy and a better browser.

I love my 9900, and the Bricking issue I truly believe is over blown, but the 9790 is a pretty nice looking device, find it, buy it, love it

I have to ask, where are these bricking 9900s? Between my friends and I we are running 5 9900s. Not one of them has an issue.
Maybe there is a problem with the magnetic field over North America. I blame Apple.

I don't think the bricking issue was as wide spread as first reported, while it has been an issue for some. Looking over the posts though, you would think one out of every two bricked...lol

The bricking issue was with a very few of these BB's. Don't be afraid to get this phone if you want it. Its a great device, one of which I'm sure you will be happy with.

Honestly, I feel like the bricking issue was blown out of proportion by your exposure to CrackBerry.

This is a site to ask for help right? So obviously there will be problems expressed on this site.

I laughed out loud in the middle of a very boring seminar. I now hang my head with embarrassment! Thanks! Lol

I agree w/ the prior statements. I was told not to buy a 9860 or any os7 device cause it "would" brick. To me that would be ok cause I was fairly sure I could unbrick it.
To my delite my 9860 hasn't bricked. And its much better than what I hoped for.
I played around w/ a 9900 and I must say it felt nice and moved very good. I liked that keyboard. I understand you already had one an that's not what you want. I was just commenting on it. Intell ya one thing if I ever own one the only way they'll get it back is pry it from my hands. Lol

Agreed. The 9790 has all the new improvements but also that classic bold form factor (smaller). And and autofocus camera.

Yup, I'd pick up the 9790 in an instant if it were at AT&T or Verizon.

On the 99xx, I love mine. Whatever diatribes there are out there against keyboards, fact is I much, much prefer my 9930 BECAUSE of the keyboards. It is a pleasure to type on.

On the bricking issue, I had my phone nuke itself twice. I brought it back, but I returned it simply because I don't want to have to deal with a nuking device. The second one I got has been perfect so far. I've had it since November.
