A nice all touch which is available to everyone. I'm a little frustrated because my carrier (O2) are not selling any BB devices at the moment. I am happy with my Z10 but shall be upgrading next year but with no BB devices to choose from i shall have no choice but to maybe swap my loyalty and i really don't want to!

Z30 will be too old by then, sorry but Blackberry can't expect people to fork out for a two year old phone? They are going to lose allot of customers if they don't bring out a Z10/Z30 replacement.

Well hopefully BlackBerry will have the rumored Z50 or something else available next year for you. If not, then you will have to make your own decision when the time comes.

Why does one need to upgrade and get a new phone every year or two anyway? Why not just keep using your Z10?

That really doesn't add up either. The z30 was on promotion at Rogers for cheap on contract. Also it still runs like a beast.

I know how it runs, I have one and I love it.

But when my contract is up in February if Blackberry don't have a new all touch out, or at least have one coming out soon then, as much as I like BB10, I'll be going Android.

    To recap:

BlackBerry released released 3 all touch phones and 3 querty phones until now.

The next phone is another querty.

So by the beginning of next year another full touch should follow.

At the moment I am happy that they have provided an eye catching device that makes people talk about BlackBerry again.

The Classic is for all those that were complaining about not having any option to truly upgrade from their Bold.

So: The Z10 is still capable of a lot and the Z30 is cheap as chips now.

Another upgrade should definitely come Next year.

I would actually appreciate it, if they would do a staggered approach.

One year querty, one year all touch/ slider

Having been with O2 for 7 years, I feel cheated as well. Especially since you only receive 20 gig of data with a new phone.

The best option therefore would be for us to buy a phone on contract, get it unlocked for free and sell it on.

This way we will be able to get the device we want.

I just find it encouraging that the o2 forums are covering and requesting the passport.

BlackBerry isn't in the upgrade rat race anymore. They've chosen to specialise in devices that their competitors would never put out. There are lots of great all touch phones out there - have you seen the Lumia 1520? Stunning phone.

BlackBerry will never be successful in the me-too market. So accept it and enjoy the keyboard, or move on. Sometimes a vendor has to say, "Our products are not for you".

Me too my friend. Me too. Do not fret. There is only no news yet of such a device. That doesn't mean one won't come. CB poll showed many of us wait for this elusive full touch device. They would be dumb not to build one. I think they are releasing touch in spring and qwerty in fall and that will be their schedule for the foreseeable future. So muster up some patience and wait with me. I know it's hard but we'll be here for support.

With all due respect (and I'm a Z10 owner and user myself), when will these "need new all-touch BBRY slab" posts stop?

    :-)

Nothing on the Verizon nor horizon for a while, and that's a fact.

I am sure that John Chen is aware of the need for some new 16:9 phone (with or without an expandable / hidden keyboard, or similar). These posts are not gonna change much.

Contact BBRY, participate in their surveys, go to "icanmakeitbetter", use Twitter, etc. and let them know.

    It's keyboard time right now.

The Passport is important and unique. Another high-spec'ed all-touch slab wouldn't nearly have had such an impact as this new innovative phone that breaks common design boundaries.

I assume if they had made the "Z50" instead of the Passport, BlackBerry would be in deep trouble now, and the turnaround would be protracted.

Keyboard phones are their (pardon the pun) classic enterprise phones. They need to stabilize the company with those enterprise sales first, then will they use the funds to produce a standard slab again and advertise in the consumer space.

Get everything out of your Z10/Z30 now, and please be patient.

I'm looking forward to another awesome all-touch (with probably a whole bunch of new innovations) myself , but the time for that's isn't (right) now.

That's just opinion, and you're welcome to disagree.
No offense to all-touch users, I'm gonna upgrade my wife's phone to a Z30 as soon as funds are available.

? BlackBerry? I premdict the future's gonna be chenomenal! ?

Buy an unlocked version. We unlocked a z10 and have it on another network as we test it to see if there are any hiccups. Nothing yet, except we are not locked to the carrier nor contract. My z30 is still carrier locked for now.

    I'm kind've confused.

If your carrier no longer offers a BB10 device, why not buy one outright / unlocked?
This allows you to keep your carrier and so forth and continue to enjoy the flow experience.

The only thing that I can think of to counter this would be that a person may not be in the financial state to buy something outright?

Is this is? Is finances the only thing that detours someone from buy a device outright? Or is there more to it?

I can understand that intentions can be lost in a forum, but please know that i'm genuinely curious.
    Thanks

I understand your point, but if Blackberry suddenly stopped making all touch phones and lose a few million customers in the process, how does this help Blackberry? It doesn't.

So my point in, is they don't bring a new all touch out soon, they'll lose quite allot of customers, which again, doesn't help.

Because my carrier will not allow it. I don't want to pay full price even if I can. I can't change carriers because the rest have crap service where I live and go.

Your carrier won't allow it? How is that possible?

So if you bought a phone second hand (is broke yours and needed a replacement until renewal let's say) it won't work? They block it?
