Weird symbol i've never seen before won't go away

It appeared when i turned my phone on. its like a circle at the start then a straight line and then a circle at the end again. I thought it was to do with a missed call, but i cleared my call log and it didn't disappear. I've switched themes and turned off/on again and done the battery pull too.. Also i can't seem to save pictures anymore without having to pull the battery out all the time. =/
