I just got a replacement handset and my previous one has 97mb or so worth of memory. I've restored the new one but still haven't loaded the apps back on yet there's only 40 or so mb of memory?

    Anyone know what's going on?

What's that? Its just weird that on a new handset I've no memory even without apps!

It sounds like more is "pre-loaded" on the replacement device. (Be it a different OS version, native blackberry components, etc.)
Connect to Desktop Manager and see if there are apps you did not have installed on your old device which you can delete.
It's also possible (though I hope not the case) that the replacement device is refurbished and wasn't properly wiped of other applications/data.
Or... did you leave the microSD card in the old and there isn't one in the new? (not sure if you're counting that)

It could be pre-loaded stuff, I'll hook it up to DM and delete it. What's safe to delete? Other than silly apps like myspace and flikr?
