I did some research. The current OS limits download size to 5 mb making it very difficult to design a podcast client. I think the fully functional Viigo will have to wait til 4.5 assuming 4.5 eliminates this limitation.
If the timer was for the Private Beta they didn't do a very good job of making that clear on the website. And they haven't changed the page at all now that the timer hit 0. They need to get their act together and realize their customer base is a bunch of addicts who need very clear direction as to the goings on. Some sort of release timeline would be nice. I like pretty pictures and graphs.
It has to cost them a fair amount to provide this service. Looks like there will be ads placed in there in some ways... I'll figure they will help defray the costs for Viigo maybe?
There are two betas actually, a public, and a private invite only.
Viigo is indeed going to be add supported. Ads will be in the header at the top, similar to how they were before, which I think was taseful and not actually handy. I clicked on a couple myself.
So to the Beta testers... Can you yes or no as to whether there is more memory used up with the new version?
I'm skeert to try beta and lose more memory
I am a Beta tester, It took up about 1 meg on install. With all my feeds loaded (a bunch of news, tech and fun stuff) I went from 31mb on an 8310 running 4.2.2.194 to 29.5. So for me it's good.
