Given the positions of Apple and Android ... looks like the third slot is a battle between RIM and Microsoft as far as Verizon is concerned.

Microsoft is done in the smart phone business IMO. What I do think is a few companies will merge their phones and platforms to compete in this rough market. With Palm out Microsoft and rim could help each other battle the green apple and alien.


Android and apple will stand alone no need for them make any moves. If it wasn't for android RIM wouldn't have any issues.
