Used Blackberry Registering
Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum, and figured you guys could help. :p
I recently purchased a used Blackberry Curve 8330 from ebay. I got it today, and activated the phone online, entering in the BB's new ESN, and such, and calling *228 and then successfully switching over the numbers.
However, I knew something was off. The Blackberry was missing some features on the phone, like the Browser, BBM, Marketplace, etc, and I'm pretty sure others, as well as not being able to set-up any email accounts.
I trolled through countless websites today and I'm still clueless. I tried registering my Blackberry through the Host Routing Table thing, but nothing happened. I registered (or so I think) the device on the blackberry.com/verizon thing (or whatever) by entering in the PIN, and ESN, and making a username and password. There, I tried re-sending the "service books" but nothing happened. Nothing was received by my phone. I also entered in my personal email account, but nothing happened as well. I'm not using BES.
I'm at a loss. Somehow the Browser thing was hidden (I only found it through the switch application tab) but I can't get on it due to the "there are no configuration settings" or something to that accord.
Anyway, any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
What should my next step of action be? How do I get all of the Blackberry's features back?
Also, btw, Verizon doesn't have IMEI numbers, right? Because I've read that I need that to register the device, but the website doesn't ask for it, nor is it found on the device's sticker...
Thanks!!
