Hello,
I'm thinking of buying a Blackberry again.
I can choose between the bold 9780 or Curve 9360 or Curve 8520.
Now my question is: Can I use whatsapp, facebook, gmail etc without a special data plan (so no BIS or BES).
I searched everywhere on the internet but I still don't know the answer.
Please help because i'm sick of my Sony Xperia Z

BB10 OS don't need special data plan like BES or BIS but previous OS versions need it.

I can choose between the bold 9780 or Curve 9360 or Curve 8520.

Since these phones are running BBOS 7, you can't run those apps with normal data plans.

You should go for devices like Leap, Z30, etc which run on BBOS 10.

You will be able to use whatsapp and other apps downloaded from the app world but not Facebook ot or email. You can use email or Facebook from the browser app - Opera Mini. For this, you will have to change your app settings a bit and enter the apn of your service provider .

I can use Facebook, Twitter and whatsapp on my Bold 9900 on wifi (without BIS).
