Who else is wondering if a BlackBerry device (BB10 or android) would survive such a thing?
USB killers seem to become a trending topic on youtube

*I don't advise anyone on trying this. Everyone takes full responsibility for his/her own actions.
But I do think that it is impossible to stay safe and aware if you don't know stuff that happens around us. If any of CrackBerry staff do think differently on his matter, please delete this thread.

I wonder if the older BlackBerries or even the new ones.... would hold up to a 10LB sledge hammer?

She had 13 BlackBerries.... wonder if each and a label on it to help her keep track of who she was dealing with.

Just yet another reason not to plug an USB stick received from someone you don't know well into one of your devices.

lol sure. And it's easy to check if an USB drive is a killer or not. But an uninformed person would think that he/she anyway pays x amount of $$ for his antivirus and that he/she has nothing to worry about in case IT happens

Once inserted you'll have to buy a new motherboard for sure and perhaps damage some other components. On some websites I read that SSDs are vulnerable to Killers, but I'd doubt that.

I wish my thumb drive from a few years ago when I was pick-pocketed on a bus was the USB killer..

I thought that is plain common sense.

Should be, but I don't think it is. There's still people who make the "aluminum foil on the head" joke when they hear some "security advice".
