What exactly are you updating? Are you upgrading and changing devices or just updating the OS on the same device? If you're just doing a simple a simple OS upgrade on the same device then no you will not have buy those apps again. As you may or may not know, some, not all but some paid apps require the use of a key code. The key code is typically linked to the device PIN. Sonic you change devices you obviously have a different PIN, in that case contact the app developer and provide them with the new device PIN and they can let you install the app on a new device. Hope this helps.
Ok thanks man. I'm upgrading to a new device and I needed to know this before I did something stupid!

Just notify the app developer for support, they can confirm you purchased the app and you should be fine.

For apps purchased from MobiHand or App World go into your account and change information. So long as the app works on your new dwvice and OS all is usually well in a few days. Once the system updates the account you can dowoad again.

Most app devs will have sent you a activation code when you first purchased it, as long as you kept those emails all you have to do is re-register the app with the original code. That worked for me no problem with Tether anyway when I changed phones.
