    I have a Telus blackberry and a verizon blackberry. My verizon is unlocked. What would happen if I insert my Telus sim card into my verizon blackberry and update the software this way. Would it lock the blackberry and what other issues may I have.

    They would be different variants, so I'm not sure anything would happen.

    Nothing would happen really. Where they're different variants, you might not even get the OS update. Why even bother with any of it when you can just update the OS using an autoloader?

    Of course you'd probably be better off doing it over WiFi, but as stated above, it would just bring your software up to the same version that you have in the other one.

    Edit: I have done the 'different sim card' thing, but I've got no experience with carrier-branded software. So you're better off taking advice from someone else, ..who has experience with these OSs'

    What do you mean by autoloader. Verizon has not rolled out the update as of yet.
