    Going to be hunting and wanna bring my phone, ill be in the woods and my signal will probably go from weak/strong/none will the times its straining for signal kill my battery? Will turning off my connections help? I want the phone on for time and monkey with blackstar gps(works with all connections off

    Trying to find a signal in a weak area will draw extra power. If you can use the functions you need w/o phone service, that'd probably be just fine.

    Constantly straining/ searching for a signal will drain the battery quickly. This is true for all phones.

    There's a app for that...Radio Saver. Works well on the NYC subway, it basically turns off the radio when there's no signal and turns radio back on when there is a signal Set it and forget it.
