    No, the only purpose of locking is to prevent you from using it on any other carriers network. Once it is unlocked, it will continue to work on your carrier and allow you to swap a SIM card from a different (International) carrier.

    Yes, but it does require a unique unlock code.

    If you call your carrier, they may provide it to you without charge, if you meet their contract requirements.

    If not, you can buy one from an Unlocking Service.

    firestreak - it looks like you already have an unlocked phone since you have T-Mobile service using a 8310 (AT&T phone).
