I have a new 8310 unit that just replaced my 8700c, which bit the dust too many times.

I have a Blackberry bluetooth headset HS-655 (tinyurl.com/y99dl83]RIM BlackBerry HS-655 Plus - headset - In-ear ear-bud, Monaural[/url]) in-ear headset.

I used it on on the old unit pretty much every day. The new one won't seem to connect.

On the blackberry I have it set to discoverable. I turn on the headset and then "Search for Devices."

I get the message, "No new devices found; ensure the device you are searching for is in pairing mode. Search again?"

Any ideas? I've googled and can't find anything worthwhile.

Ack! Nevermind.

Apparently you have to hold down the button on the earpiece for 10 seconds, which puts in sharing mode. Then you can connect...


...you also have to use teh password 0000 to authenticate.

Go figure.
