i know on t-mo...when u use uma to make phone call...it will use up your minutes if u dont have unlimited uma plan. how about for sms/mms txt? is it the same way?

AFAIK you can't use WIFI (UMA) to SMS or MMS. Only calls work over UMA, you still need to connect to the network to send/receive SMS/MMS.

Your phone works exactly the same over a UMA connection as it does over a GSM/EDGE connection. Calls, SMS, MMS, data, everything goes through the UMA connection. The only difference is if you have the T-Mo option for unlimited UMA calling minutes.

thanks hubermania, and afaik you will still be billed for text while on uma, you will not be billed for minutes if you have the uma calling plan.
