BB9780...WiFi and UMA supported model. I have Called, Live Chated, etc. Bell Customer Support, and either they have never heard of UMA technology, or didn't know if it was available through Bell Mobility. Bell insists this information is "not available, and I should contact the manufacturer!!" and the BB9780 says "contact local service provider" for UMA support availability. How come I can't get an answer. Does anyone know if UMA calling over WiFi is possible with Bell Canada? Don't care about Rogers, T-Mobile, etc.

As far as I know, Bell Canada does not have UMA. If that is confirmed, then no amount of OS versions, Engineering Screen hacks, Service Books, etc. will get you UMA whether your phone model is capable or not.

Excluding engineering screen hacks, IN GENERAL, a phone must be A) a UMA capable model, B) a UMA capable model issued by a carrier supporting UMA (Rogers, Fido, T-Mobile and Cincinatti Bell in North America), and C) signed up for a UMA access plan with a UMA capable carrier (true for Rogers/Fido, not true for T-Mobile, unknown for Cincinatti Bell). Engineering Screen hacks will get you past point B only (Point A is a gimmie) but not point C.

^^ that is correct. Bell Canada does not support UMA at all. So there for wifi calling is not possible.

    Don't care about Rogers ...
UMA requires carrier support, there are specialized servers that only Rogers/Fido use. Sorry.
