I was just wondering how fast I could possibly type on my Passport, so i went to 10fastfingers.com and took the test.

    Results:
    40 WPM
    2007 Keystrokes
    95,24% Accuracy
    38 Correct Words
    1 Wrong Word

(Was just the second try, after I understood how it works, so no training for this result)

What do you manage and what device you're using?

The most I could ever do was 40 but that was with looking at the keys too! I still have to look, I know, it’s sad. I would say it is half memory and half looking BUT it is more possible to be more accurate with a PKB IMO, pretty hard to get feedback from glass.

I was looking at the kb as well
I don't think it's even possible to just feel the buttons, since you're only using your thumbs, moving all over the pkb. It's not like on a real keyboard, where your hands stay in the same position.

Btw. I just did the test on my laptop and I scored about twice that speed. But funny enough the accuracy was exactly the same...

Tried this on my Priv, got 53, but 88% accuracy. I need a proper keyboard like my Classic.

I suck! 28 words per minute, 96.55% accurate, 25 words correct and 0 words wrong.

That's using a Q10 only using my right thumb though. I've never needed to type using two thumbs unless I'm using the Passport.

I think I'll try using the Classic and Passport to compare.

    Classic 25 words per minute.
Passport SE 24 words per minute.

    Q10 wins for me!

Anyone find a way to successfully run this on 9900?

Text only shows three lines and refuses to scroll on K1. No love for 9900, either. My right thumbnail is injured (phreak encounter with a paper clip, crazy enough. Lol) so... only left thumb on BB10 stuff successfully tested, so far.

Single left thumb on Classic: 89wpm
Single left thumb on PP: 41wpm.
Zero errors, both. No double thumbing attempted.

Confident 9900 #'s would exceed 100 wpm but unable to test at this website. K1 single thumb would roughly estimate to about 30 something. K2 slightly better. SOooo frustrating to be unable to test my faves.

Also, I'm not well practiced for looking at my handset while typing. My personal testing involves 30 minute, multiple page, sessions. Including punctuation, numerals, special characters, paragraphs, etc. Typically composed real time without looking at the handset. Which most closely mimics actual communications use case. These things are communications devices, after all. Who looks at their tongue while talking? Lol.

That site does have some interesting skill building potential, imo. Good "word" oriented practice. My "typing brain" got trained to phrases & sentences back in highschool typing class. Lol. One of the most useful classes of highschool, imo. Handset typing skills should be included in modern HS curriculum, if not already. Imo. Fwiw.

Those are some impressive scores. 89WPM with Classic. Is it just that you're trained to that device, or would you say it's just better for typing, that the PP is?

Also on Key1 the test is not possible?

Maybe I should add, that I took the test in German. So special characters (äöüß) were included.

Yeah, the word list won't scroll up for K1 typing test on that site. I haven't joined or registered the site so that's my next try.

I'm certainly more trained on Classic. PP would fare better with both thumbs. PP is simply too wide for comfortable single thumbing. The far keys are a reach too far, for me. I'll try double thumbing PP once injured right thumb heals a few days. Lol. Classic is really oversized as well but not as much. I've managed to rack up much more training time on Classic because its tool belt makes it more useful for my use case. I can imagine Q10 as impressively fast for these "burst speed" tests. These tests aren't really structured to reflect all around composition & editing performance, imo.

Really wish I could provide 9900 numbers. Perfect size and KB. Imo.

Also might add that it became necessary to slow down double letter entry after the "double type correction update" on Classic. A few yrs ago. In other words, typing the two "rr" too rapidly of "BlackBerry", can easily result in BlackBery" without a slight pause between the rr pair. BB got a little heavy with their discrete input filter timeout??

Thought I would take this test:

    44 words per minute
    Accuracy 91.32%

On an iPhone 8 Plus and with a tired hand afterwards.

    39 WPM
    (words per minute)
    Keystrokes (197 | 40) 237
    Accuracy 82.77%
    Correct words 39
    Wrong words 8

I admittedly wasn't trying too hard, but hey, it is what it is.

Yikes... you guys are probably faster than i.

I didn't take the test but I know that I would be faster on my z30 but likely more accurate on this Q10.
