Is it true that RIM doesn't make phones and tablets in China due to security concerns?

I was wondering this after reading that CSIS has warned Canadian business leaders to be cautious of cyber attacks from Chinese cyber spies.

My understanding is that they don't assemble in china but most of the parts are from there.

They get various parts to be manufactured, but everything is assembled either in Taiwan, Mexico, or Hungary for Storm 1.
HOWEVER, the important parts like batteries, are made in Japan, or high QC countries

Agree, most of the parts are probably manufactured in China (as are with a lot of other things), but assembled elsewhere. I have seen phones from Canada, Hungary, Mexico, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
