    Hi CB'sters
If I installed a leak OS, will I still be able to received an update once BlackBerry releases the official version?

Was any trade-off when running with a leaked version?

    Hi Audux,

Yes, even if you install leak, you will still be able to update the official release(only IF the release version is higher than your leaked one)

    Cheers

One more thing, does it void my warranty to BlackBerry? As the usual manufacturers does?

I wouldn't send a BlackBerry in for service with a leaked OS on it if that's what you're asking. But you can easily downgrade back to an official OS and then send it in if you ever have a problem. I've done it many times before and they have always honored my warranty.

Wow that's great if the warranty will not be void. At least I'm assured that the OS won't damage the device's hardware.

It is a lot safer than rooting your 4.3 Sammy and tripping knox!

If you think about it, a leaked OS from BlackBerry is still an OS from BlackBerry, so I can't see how they would void the warranty in the first place...its not 3rd party software. I could be wrong, but I can't see there would be a difference UNLESS the leaked OS is the problem, not the phone.

Too many of these threads already exist there is a reason BlackBerry numbers their builds. The carrier build is just a leak that they authorized for usage nothing more or less, if your leak is a lower version it will update if not than it won't update.
