I recently got a new trackball and ring and OEM dome sticker to replace, so I just did all of that, and UGH...
So my trackball works, it scrolls around just fine, but when I press down, it doesn't open things. Like if I push down on messages or something it doesn't open up my messages. It does click though.
The dome sticker wouldn't stick, so I used some double sided tape to help it stay in place. Maybe that's the problem.
To open applications I have to use that little arrow key. I guess it's not the end of the world, but WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY PHONE.

You found the problem yourself, it's the double sided tape. That prevents the click from being registered.

Time to get another trackball dome. By using the double-stick tape you've changed the operating parameters of a vital piece of the puzzle. It doesn't take much to make that piece inoperable.
