I was split on this for a while. When the Torch 9800 came out last year I absolutely loved the phone. The Torch 9850 attracted me when it was leaked earlier this year. I'm leaning more towards the 9810 because of the keyboard and form. Also, something about the 9850 seems a little underwhelming than the leaked info. Maybe it's just me.

They both come out on Sunday so I'm really excited! Not much time to make a decision though!

I'm leaning to the 9810- my fat little fingers aren't quite so dexterous. I like the physical keyboard part, along with a decent touchscreen size.

If you are going to buy a touchscreen only phone, why not just buy an iPhone?

    Great question.

I have had the opportunity to use both for several weeks. Keep in mind these were beta builds ... but without a doubt I suggest the slider. I agree with you when you commented the Torch seems a little underwhelming. That was my impression using it. While the Torch 9810 was spot on almost all the time.

Obviously selecting a phone these days is very personal so go to a store and try them both. The above is simply my impressions.

It's nice that RIM offers the choice between keyboard, touch, or slider.
    Choice is great!

I'm leaning toward the 9900 until the QNX slab comes out.
