As talking about past mistakes seems to be forbidden: http://forums.crackberry.com/general...market-985945/, because the Fanbo1s can't face the truth: Let's talk about the mistakes BB did since "savior" John Chen is in charge. The reason for this thread is that most Crackberry users wouldn't care about an ongoing existence of a company named Blackberry that would stop making smartphones. This scenario is more realistic than some want to admit.
BlackBerry's surviving, but not as a smartphone company

1. Old hardware, high prices. The newer smartphones with Qualcom S4 Plus SoCs (except Passport) are too outdated to be real "sellers" and let Blackberry regain market share.
2. Security? Not for consumers! Enterprise customers get BBM encryption. Consumers get stickers! Another goal for Whatsapp..
3. OS updates? Once a year is enough! 10.2.1 in January 2014 was the last big update existing BB10 users received although their devices are still lacking tons of features that were present on the "outdated" BBOS. 10.3 comes only preinstalled on two devices. Why no OTA update? Apparently John Chen tries to save money where he. Who's the victim? The Blackberry users who were among the first to get the new OS, the early adopters, the most loyal customers a company can get.

2) BBM is encrypted for consumers, BBM Protected is a higher level of security. Also discussed quite a bit.
3) No one is happy about the OS situation currently, and yes, you guessed it, talked about a lot here.
