so i decided to enable the security lock w/ my password and right afterwards, i did a battery pull since its been about 2wks since i did one and my effin password wouldn't take and i'm sure i put it in right because its the same for everything and i kept trying and finally it just wiped all my ish.

i'm pissed because i have to spend the time restoring all my ish, lucky for me being in IT field i'm used to making daily back ups but this is some bullshet for real and now it reads scrubbing and its taking for effin ever.

I feel you on that one, same thing happened to me a few months ago. Sad thing was I was a newbie so I didn't backup my bb. Glad you got your bb working again.

How many incorrect tries are you allowed? On my 8830, the minimum is 3 and the max is 10. Your second experience sounds like you have a lot less than 10 tries available. Also, after some number, I believe it starts showing you what you are typing, instead of asterisks. Are you seeing that before you get to "please type blackberry?"

I'd encourage you to give yourself more opportunities to get it right. On the 8830, you can go to 10.
