    That was a nice informative post but the latter part of it was blown out of the water by Tilton53 as far as carrier is concerned. We thought we had it down to being the 3 belonging to Verizon but Sprint has that also. This will be interesting when we can figure this out.
    Carrier is linked to network type. I'm pretty sure

    2xxxxxxx := GSM devices
    3xxxxxxx := CDMA devices incl 8830 CDMA/GSM

    Other than logging in to the BIS site, is there any other way to verify if a PIN/IMEI combination is valid? I'm @ the sh!t end of a scam with a seller telling my that he sent me a device w/a different PIN/IMEI than I received...
