Even if you could you'd go from a 3 hour battery down to a 20 minute battery.

You don't seem to know much about phones, because if you did you would know that the 1.5 ghz dual core processor of your z10 is not nearly enough to provide a Smooth experience on the processing power consuming android Os.

Tens or hundreds of millions of people would prefer to have access to a vibrant and functional ecosystem of apps, services, and third-party accessories than to have a perfectly smooth OS experience on their low-end hardware...

Regardless, there is no way BB is going to spend a cent of additional cash on phones that they've already lost billions on that they aren't obligated to spend. From BB's perspective, if you want Android, buy a Priv - otherwise you are part of the problem (for BB).

...and those 10s or hundreds of millions of people have what feels like 10s or hundreds of millions of devices that run Android that are well made and inexpensive and well supported and beautiful from which to choose, and certainly don't need to backfill a Z10 with Android to "run Android" and have access to all those apps.

Whatever you say about hundreds of millions of people wanting to run Android, which is true... there are still millions of people who want to run BB10 despite the availability of Android and iOS, and there is a sustainable business model to be had selling hardware AND SOFTWARE and other things to millions of people... but it admittedly does require a type of business acumen and a desire not present in current BlackBerry management.

Q42014 figures show 80,772,000 PCs running Windows were sold.
"only" 5,750,000 computers running Macintosh were sold.

Seems to me with less than 7 percent market share, Apple should just stop selling expensive computers at a profit, because no one wants them at all and no one could possibly ever want them because PCs running Windows "exist". Obviously "people" as in "all people everywhere in every situation and constituency" want PCs running Windows, and "no one" as in "nobody who has any sense at all and isn't a fool" wants a very overpriced and not much more reliable computer made by Apple running OSX that has far fewer applications available but-for-the-grace-of-Adobe-and-Microsoft do they even exist.

So yeah, "people" want "apps". That's the absolutely only consideration that is necessary.

Obviously, the difference is that Apple's 7% of the market is almost exclusively at the top end of the market - they can ask (and GET!) far more money per device, on average, than any PC maker. If BB could get $1000-1200 per BB10 phone sold, then we'd be talking about a similar situation, but I think we all know that a significant percentage of BB's sales come from low-end devices and fire-sale pricing on written-down phones, not flagships at flagship prices. In that respect, the Priv is a step in the right direction.
