anybody having this problem?

I am not sure if its a BB issues, or a carrier issue, or?

all was fine for years, until recently....

whenever I get texts from my contacts in the phone, it used to say who it was from.

But now, because the phone mysteriously adds a +1 (eg. +1 905-xxx-xxxx before the their phone number, it doesnt recognize the contacts number (I simply have it as 905-xxx-xxxx and link up the name.

frustrating....

Try adding + 1 to the contacts it happening to.

Check the setting about how you want your phone numbers stored. There is a setting for this.

So what's the setting? I've had the same problem from the beginning. I'm in London, UK. Mobile numbers start with 07*** etc but text come through as +447***, takes me ages to work out who it's from. Rely more on WhatsApp these days to recognise messages.

phone app>from top bezel swipe down>settings>scroll down to smart dialing = look what is in there in country code

nah, somethings messed up with my phone and I dont know why.

for some reason, I lost a tonne of contacts, just disappeared suddenly. weird....

mine shows the +1 canada code. nothing changed there.

ok...I did put 1 in front of all my contact number in the book for years..maybe that is why I never had that problem
