Hi! I'm fairly new to the Blackberry system. I got my first Blackberry phone this summer, the Torch. I hav't experienced any problems with this phone until now. When I go to the "text messages" icon, it doesn't take me there, unstead this message pops up that says "Uncaught Exception java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException" and it only gives me the option of clicking 'ok' at the bottom. I have no idea what this means? Maybe I have too many messages? But I can't get to them to delete them? Will someone please help me, and direct me as to what I can do to fix this problem? Thanks!
Make a backup of your device via desktop manager. Then go to advanced backup/restore, select the sms database, tell it to remove that from the device. That should get rid of your sms messages. If that works you could try restoring the same way from the backup I had you make initially. The database on the phone may have gotten corrupted...
I just know from what I have read that the Torch rarely needs it, meanwhile god knows what kind of garbage is piling up forever and never getting dumped!
