I am planning to buy the 9360 next month. Do i need text messaging service, since I will have BB Messenger in my BB. Would I be able to receive text messages from other phones? Can I block text messaging in the BB? If yes, would that also block the BB MEssenger?

If you have any friends and want to get texts from them then yes, you need some sort of texting plan unless you want to pay per text.

And yes, you can block text messages and that won't affect BBM.

1. Blackberry Messenger service and regular texting are separate

2.Yes, you will be able to receive texts from other phones

3. Under options and security settings, (as well as with 3rd party apps), you can block text messages

4. No it would not block BBM
