If it got stolen, I'd probably just curl up in a ball in the corner and cry..

If I broke it I would take it to work and have one of my wonderful tachs fix it. If I lost it well thank God for TEP.

I back up to my PC daily, so most of my stuff is on my PC as well (which gets backed up to 2 seperate places daily), so I feel pretty safe. When the outages occurred however, I found myself struggling to have to "get by" with an old Moto phone that could only make calls and send basic text msgs.

Had to replace my blackberry because of a back power connector.. found out the importance of backing up at the moment when I got a new unit. Didnt really know about outages but the last one made me fully aware of how much I depend on my BB. Carrying a laptop with a ev-do card isnt as nice as the lil silver thing in the leather holster..

Well I actually experienced this a few months ago during the summer. My Blackberry was stolen. All I can say is I was panicked and wanted my Blackberry back. I went to the cops and told them that 3 guys stole my Blackberry and that is very important they find it. They came back and said they couldn't find it, I told them they have to its really important and they said they will do their best. About 6 hours later with some help from the thieves (who they apprehended) i was reunited with my BB. I was a wreck without my BB for those moments, couldn't stop pacing and thinking about what i would do to the thieves.

If I had not recovered my Blackberry that day I would've been in bad shape, devastated. Lucky I had luck on my side and I was reunited with my BB and got 3 criminals off the streets at the same time.

The thing that kept my BB safe from the thief was it was password protected. I suggest everyone enable this feature. The thief tried 6 times but couldn't get in and dumped it from frustration. It really works. It saved my BB and my important information.

If the monster got broken, I would take a deep breath. Then I would go and buy another one. Then I would take it to work and sync it and hopefully be pretty much where I started.

Every day - duh. It's usually every hour, except when I'm sleeping and I've even been known to wake up and check my device to see what I'm missing.

Since I don't load a lot of stuff and am using it in an enterprise scenario, I don't fret too much about it. But I think that if it was a personal device, I'd want to backup at least every week.

What would you do if your BlackBerry got broken or lost/stolen? OR... if affected by one of the BlackBerry outages of 2007, what did you do and how did you cope?
I will get a replacement ASAP to ease my pain. (maybe a good reason for the ungrade that I always want)

I'm usually super paranoid about losing files even though I only back up my BlackBerry about once a week. I should change that habit. :]

Oh, my poor it would suffer being away from me! And I from it!!!

I especially like todo matrix and idea matrix because I can back them up to the web and if my blackberry crashes, I can retrieve my info quickly and without the need for a computer!

i didnt deal with the outage I experienced very well. called my carrier, had to sit on hold, they said no problem on their end "check my settings and BES server". Finally was passed onto RIM, which went through several troubleshooting steps before admitting that there were outages.

my previous encounter with RIM support was very positive, they fixed my issue in about 5 minutes. maybe they are getting to large to admit mistakes.

Since I just got my Curve on Christmas eve, I'm still learning how to do things with it. I have never had a 'telephone' with this many features on it, so thusly, there was never any need to back up data from previous devices. I'm lovin' my new Curve 8300 though.
