Here are ten things that we hate about BlackBerrys in no particular order.

    1. The BlackBerry Browser is horrible The BlackBerry is definitely not a device designed to effectively browse around the internet. It is truly amazing to me at just how slow and bad the BlackBerry Browser is and it has little to do with the small screen. Windows Mobile, Palm OS, Symbian, and just about every other mobile OS has a browser that could dance circles the BlackBerry. Thats not even to mention the browser on the iPhone. There simply is no comparison there.

    2. The color of the BlackBerry you want is always on another carrier For the passed couple of years, you have been able to, for the most part, get the same model BlackBerry devices from each of the carriers. The major differences are in the color schemes. I dont know if it is Murphys Law or what, but, how is that that no matter what carrier you are on, the color of the BlackBerry model that you really like is on a different carrier?

    3. No native HTML email support Since 2002 has anyone, with the exception of BlackBerry users, sent an email that didnt have some type rich text or HTML formatting embedded in it? Weve heard that BES 4.1 SP5 is suppose to have this, however, this item remains on the list until it is widely available.

    4. Cant play YouTube videos Why is it that every cool mobile phone except the BlackBerry can play YouTube Videos. I know that the BlackBerry doesnt have the Flash player necessary to play YouTube videos. The question, though, is Why?

    5. The Media Player I never expected that the BlackBerry would ever truly compete with the iPod when it comes to consumers MP3 players of choice. I did, however, expect to to compete with other music phones not named iPhone. The BlackBerrys Media Player is so bad that RIM shouldnt even list the ability to play music as a feature.

    6. CDMA BlackBerrys come out a year after their GSM cousins If you are like most Americans you probably dont care and may not even know if your mobile device is GSM or CDMA. Outside of North America, however, most of Earth uses GSM. GSM BlackBerrys come out about a year in advance of their CDMA counterparts, but, seeing how most BlackBerry users (over 70%) are from North America and the majority of them are on CDMA networks, I dont get why RIM makes such a large segment of its total user base wait so long to get new gear.

    7. Too many frigging BlackBerry outages I dont know if the BlackBerry is becoming a victim of its own success, but, over the passed year or so, the number of major BlackBerry service outages has gone up dramatically. It seems like there is a major outage about every other month or so.

    8. Way too many frigging BlackBerry outages we know that weve already listed this, however, we hate continent wide BlackBerry outages so much that we decided to list this one a second time.

    9. BlackBerry clock doesnt automatically adjust to different time zones I know that some BlackBerry users like that they have to manually change their time zone but I had cell phones back in the 90s that at least gave you the option to change time zones manually are have the network do it for you.

    10. What do you hate about BlackBerrys? We know that this list is going to differ from BlackBerry user to BlackBerry user so we will leave the tenth thing we hate about BlackBerrys to be discussed in the comments.

I don't 'hate' anything about my BB but wish there was the ability to put applications on the SD card as the 64mb device memory is very restrictive.

    1. the browser is pretty bad...but opera makes it tolerable...
    2. you are right about the color...I kind of hate the verizon silver..and I wish I could have the black..but..that's just the carriers peeing their turf marks around..and the grass is ALWAYS greener..
    3. alledgedly html is coming...but when???
    4. i agree on the flash player..that's one rim needs to jump on if they really want to kick in the door of the consumer market...
    5. I think the media player is alright.BUT...I dont really use it much for music specifically.. I dont like using my phone to play music because i like having those things seperate...it plays videos on the card fine though..
    6. I TOTALLY AGREE !! (I am on verizon and I have felt their evil touch on the subject...bad bad verizon...but thats for another post...)
    7. and 8. yeah it sucks a little...but the outages are never for long..and it is my unscientific opinion that rim WILL resolve this as their customer base broadens...
    9. the clock...well..if you cant burn five minutes of a five hour flight trip..airport delay..shuttle ride..rental car... to reset the clock...
    10. I'm not sure there is one thing specifically that I "hate" but only small anooyances..I will think about it and edit my post...

I'd have to say my biggest criticism would be the minimal on board memory. But since this is built onto the phone, I hope there will soon be a way for apps to be directed to "live" on my SD card.

Honestly, my list of why I Love my BB would be MUCH longer than 10 items!

First, I love my berry. The stability of the bb os can't be compared. However.. There are things I'd improve (not at a hating stage yet)
    1. UMTS- this is huge for me
    2. Browser
    3. HTML email
    4. Flash
    5. Bigger sd card supported would be nice.

Work pays for mine, so I guess you can say I get paid to use it.

Touchscreen is a non-issue. Other than sounding cool, do you really want one?

Back to the OP's list. I agree with the browser and html email. I use the media player all the time and like it. The other items on the list are non-issues.Hopefully, the next OS release will improve all areas.

Wish my 8830 had GPS and a camera, otherwise I'm thrilled.

--I would like my BB to have had GPS--not such a big deal as to go to "hate" status....

--Don't care that much about color..that's what skins and covers are for. Besides, I'm kind of a basic black gal....

--Showing my ignorance here, I don't have a problem with the browser or the media player.....

--I would love to be able to put more things directly on my sd card....I think that will probably come as RIM advances more in the consumer market.

--would also love more and less expensive 3rd party apps, again something that will come as companies "get" that not ALL of us have BBs for work.

--But on the whole, I love my BB like it was one of my dogs.....

Having had a windows based smartphone before, I would not got back!

Although the bb browser isn't up to par, Operas free web browser makes the wait for a new one more bearable. Googling things can be a pain but I'm hoping to resolve that with Googhelper (if you have it and use it let me know how it works).

I haven't had much issue with the media player but am pretty annoyed at not being able to watch youtube videos.

I wish that my curve had come with a car charge. The battery runs out too quickly when all you do at work is play on your bb.

Hopefully OS4.5 will give us all Flash (ahh-ahhhhhh! Saviour of the uni-verse...)

and Cigarette lighter > USB converters can be found quite cheap now, then all you have to do is plug in your USB Travel Charger. Or you could even install a USB port on your dash linked up to the battery!

I would like HTML, youtube, and the clock feature. I can tolerate the rest but YouTube is a biggy! I'm on a CDMA which is not bad. The wait is longer but with the wait comes all the fixes that first timers didn't receive such as the flash and GPS.
