Dumb question from newbie. Considering 8800 or new 8310 when it comes out. But, don't want to pay AT&T $9.99 for GPS "unlimited routes" over an above the $29.99 unlimited data plan.

Can I use the 8800/8310 for Google Maps, Beyond 411, and other location based programs WITHOUT paying AT&T for the GPS?

ETA: AT&T customer service was useless--transferred me to RIM, who couldn't answer. Too long on hold to wait to get back to AT&T.

    Thanks.....Jeff.

    -Google Maps
-BBMaps: AT&T hides the icon on their devices. You'll need to edit the LBS.alx file to add that to your device.
    -TeleNav
    -Yahoo! Go

There are others, too. Try this website for good information on GPS and mapping.
