I am switching from 1 Curve to another today, due to a warranty issue with the original Curve I got (the "s" key didn't work about 30% of the time...I would feel the keyboard click and hear it, but no S would show up on the screen).

I know you can use "Switch Devices" in DM to transfer info from one device to the new one. Couple questions though for anyone who has experience doing this:

    1. Do I need to activate the new phone first (by calling VZW or changing my pin in the BIS site)?

    2. Will apps that I had to enter a password to use transfer as well or will I have to contact the vendor to get new passwords?

    3. Is there some general recommended order in which I do all this stuff?

Some of this wasn't covered in the threads I found in search and there wasn't an article about it in 101.

    Thanks for any info.

    1) No you can do that after

    2) Some will some will not. If the registration is tied to the PIN,
    you will need to.

    3) None at all.

Awesome!! Be sure to wipe your old unit before sending it back

options > security options > general settings > press menu and select
Wipe Handheld. That will clear all your personal information.

It essentially returns it to an "out of the box" state, but it leave the OS intact.
The only way to do a complete wipe, OS and all, is with javaloader (CrackMem,
    JL_CMDER)

It wipes your personal information. It's not like wiping your OS.
