CDMA cannot handle simultaneous voice and data at the same time. I'm pretty sure the only thing you can do while on a call is text, no data.

I concur... while only using network data.
Only time CDMA devices can do both is when it's on wifi, but CDMA BBs don't have that issue ;)
I voted Bold only because I have a visceral dislike for all
touchscreen devices.
This should be the only answer you need really.
True, now I am leaning more towards the BOLD
but I have until 6th to decide which one to get.
Until then, I'm waiting for someone to do STORM some justice XD.
But yes, I am slightly concerned about the Wifi thing!
It may come in handy at times.
As for multimedia, I do have the psp to watch videos and such.
But i really want my blackberry to function as a bluetooth mp3 player. However, I just want to know how long it will last~
Go with the bold. Carrier networks depend on where you live. I use att and the 3g coverage is great and fast all the time. As for web surfing the iphone 3g has the best browser on the market today.

Bold is the best thing to humans for phones.can't live without it!!
excellent!!
Hi Stalvros,
I'm with you! I am about to get my first Blackberry and can't decide between The Storm or The Bold.
I've been leaning towards The Bold, but I think it's mainly cause of the issues that I kept reading about with The Storm. The Bold seems to have very few issues. (I like the looks of both, so that's not an issue)
My main uses on the phone would be some e-mailing and more web browsing. Thats why I keep wanting to find that one review that says that The Storm is great. I believe the browser is better on The Storm and I'm sure the bigger screen makes it better as well.
I decide on one, and then wake up the next morning all confused again.
Might be leaning towards The Bold again!
One thing I want to note!
I was told by a friend of mine that the LATEST STORM has wifi!
Is this true?????
If this is true, then i might want to get storm!
I just realized how small bold's font is >_<.
I really like how you can see everything in storm despite it being a touch screen.
One thing i would like to clerify as well with storm.
That TOUCH LCD thing! Is it sturdy? I don't wanna keep pressing it and ended up spoiling it >_<
Also, I will be seeing lots of machines, taking picture and sending it to my supervisor.
Which means that HIGH QUALITY picture is definitely needed! This is why storm is better!
But yes, final decision lies on
1st - quality of the touch screen
2nd - whether or not the latest storm has wifi!
I needed an upgrade recently and I got the Bold. No offense intended, Storm owners, but if I *wanted* a touch screen, I'd get an iPhone.
I buy BlackBerry because I type waaaaay too much with my fat fingers to be able to live without a physical keyboard.
Another question on the BOLD.
The MOUSEPAD thingy.
Will it loosen and will it like break or something due to massive usage?
I used to have O2 handphone set.
It loosened and I have to pay like SG$100 for a replacement >_<
Thanks guys.
I have decided to get BOLD!
Will be getting it tomorrow!
The main reason is;
1st - I type a lot
It's quite difficult to type on the storm and to boot, I'm quite afraid that one day the STORM's LCD might just crack or something (Because you have to keep PRESSING it for it to register something)
2nd -Wifi
Not having wifi means that you ONLY depend on one single source of network in which for my case, is not good. I mean, common sense will tell you that you should only have more then ONE source of 'income' or whatever you wish to call it XD.
3rd - Battery
Apparently the BOLD has longer life compared to the STORM. Theoretically speaking, the BOLD uses 1500mA while the STORM only uses 1400mA. In my case, I travel a lot so I do need more battery power.
Of course, there are the fallbacks as well.
In this case, obviously it would be the small lettering as you can see better in CURVE and also the resolution of the camera. But it's not that big of a deal as
1st - Small lettering
I'm quite young and I'm really pretty much used to small lettering. My parents however, they needed bigger resoultion. But i'm really fine with it.
2nd - Camera
As you know, STORM has 3.2MP autofocus and BOLD has 2MP 'non-autofocus' (I'm not sure if BOLD has autofocus but last I checked, it doesn't). But then again, how GOOD is this STORM camera? Sure its 3.2MP but is it the type of camera you wanna be using when taking IMPORTANT pictures? Is it strong enough? They say that both phones has FLASH, but it's actually not FLASH, it's just small lighting which doesn't even come close to the type of FLASH that digital camera has! So for this, I might as well just bring my own camera >_<.
In conclusion;
Yes, I think I will just get the BOLD.
Also, since it has been around 1 year, theoretically more support are avaiable for it compared to the STORM. So I hope my decision will help those who's having the same issue as well ^_^. But please do keep in mind that my decision is best suited for my own use.
AT&T's Blackberry Data Plan is comparable to the Verizon Data Plan lol...I don't understand this whole thing about AT&T users having to hang onto our WIFI hopes...Mine was $10 a month on top of my $5 unlimited texting...And I get 3G speeds and don't really ever have to use WIFI.
Hi Stalvros,
I tried to respond to your message, but hadn't done enough posts!
I'm with you and have also decided to go with The Bold!
May it bring us much joy.
Thanks again for the response.
go for storm never used the bold
No problem!
Will let the forum know once I get the BOLD!
Apparently all the STARHUB outlet in Singapore RAN OUT OF IT!!!!!!
They only have the Storm left!
(Kinda makes you wonder why BOLD is out of stock and the STORM isn't eh?)
I got mine last night! So far I am super happy! One problem, I turn my bluetooth on; pair with my old device; put in the security code (on both phones); and they pair up. However when I try send tones; pics and videos from my old phone, they don't connect with each other. I have made my Bold visible, but doesn't help.
Any idea?
Have the same issue. Make sure on the Bold you select "Receive Using Bluetooth" each time and it should allow you to transfer.
your data package includes internet surfing. People will argue speeds on verizon vs at&t all day long but truth is the lack of wi-fi is a dissapointment in the storm.
Does it make it a bad phone no but it would be nice to have.
What you should look at and answer for yourself is simple..
Do you like touchscreen or do you like keys
because the screen on the storm gives you way more realistate for watching videos and things and this is a plus over the Bold
However the bold is real real zippy and has real keys so its easier to type on persae
thats your main differences
the wi-fi is a bonus..
But you should also find out who has better service in your area at&t or verizon
