The only time that I have used the Wi-Fi, I clicked on the signal meter in the top/right corner of the screen then clicked "set up wi-fi network...then scan for networks.

Make sure your n-band router is also set for g-band aswell. The Storm2 WIFI will not pickup n-band.

for me the best way was to manually add the network using the ssid and wep key.

Yes, it is imperative that you have your router set for dual band N+G. The Storm2 only supports B and G (but G is much better than B). If necessary, you may need to adjust your router settings to allow this, if it supports dual-band broadcasting. If your router doesn't support dual-band, but you still want your Storm2 on WiFi, you will have to disable N and fall back to G.
