I'm having a lot of problems trying to run various GPS apps on my Storm 2 on the Verizon network. VZW navigator is so slow to load, I've tried SpotBerry, but it won't accept my registration key. Trax seems to work OK. I've read some blogs that Verizon blocks other apps, but those seem out of date. I'm wondering if I need to remove the Verizon app to see if the 3rd party apps run. Any thoughts?

Verizon doesn't block any GPS apps on the Storm. If you are leaving VZNav running in the background, it may be taking control of the GPS and not allowing another app to access it. The easy solution in that case is to exit VZNav. Having it installed and not running on your phone will not hinder any other GPS apps.

Check to see what apps run in the background. It takes a second to grab the GPS but app speed is ok. Gmaps, bbmaps, vznav all run flawlessly.
