Stickys are simply threads that us Mods think are worthwile making easy access. Stickys just sit at the top of the forum posts to make them easy for people to find.
Normal posts work slowly down the list of threads as new ones are added or as people add posts to existing thread. Some threads like Pgoto Savenger Hunt are continuously being updated so the are almost always in view on the first page other are not updated and so fall into (sometimes well deserved) oblivion. Stickys do not do this. They are always at the top.
