[CrackBerry Question]

So when you start typing on the physical keyboard on the home screen a search automatically pops up. However this doesnt seem to close and I can still see it running through the transparent background when I enter all apps and use the search function there. also after I close my screen and open it the on screen keyboard pops up again left off with what I was trying to search in the first place.
Then Im also having trouble setting keyboard shortcuts , holding a key down long doesnt send an option to create a shortcut
