I was thinking about buying the international Blackberry Tour for sprint and then taking out the SIM card and using it in my dad's blackberry bold 9700 which was from at&t. Is this possible?

Using it for what? I doubt it's possible. Sprint is a cdma network, and that sim card is provided so sprint customers traveling in overseas destinations can use Sprint's international calling plan on overseas gsm carriers' networks.

Like I said, Sprint is a CDMA network. It doesn't use sim cards. It's not like you can add a calling or data plan to the card. The card is only provided so the phone will work in other countries.

And you can't use the 9700 on Sprint.

Simply put. Taking the sim card that Sprint provides and putting it in a GSM phone
doesn't mean it's going to work on Sprint.
