Spam on your BlackBerry
How is everyone combatting 'spam' on their BlackBerry's?
At present, I have my main email account forwarding a copy of my emails to my 'blackberry' email address. The downside of this is if my main account finds spam email, it puts it in a folder, and thus when I use a client, like Outlook to collect email, it doesn't pick it up; but because of the 'forward a copy' rule, I'll still get it on my BlackBerry.
Are people using various spam software on their BlackBerry's?
Am thinking or reverting to having my 'main' email account setup in BIS. Of course, the downside to that, I have to wait 10-15 minutes before I get my email on my BlackBerry...
Decisions, decisions...

I've been lucky and haven't had any hit the BB yet. (knock on wood) I just use Gmail and it comes instantly and has a pretty good spam filter built in.
-
So, I could forward my 'main' domain email to my Gmail account, and let it handle my email / spam. I take it items that fall into the spam folder on Gmail DON'T get forwarded to the BlackBerry?
-
I'm not sure how it would handle forwarded email, but yes, it does have a spam folder that does not get sent to the BB.
-
Actually I have e-mail from my attrition.org forwarding to my gmail account and I get on average of 100 SPAM's a day on it when I check my gmail using the BB client. I wouldn't say that GMAIL's spam filtering is the best.
-
This is also a big issue for me. I have my domain account causing some SPAM trouble on my BB because of the lack of the Outlook filter. My gmail accounts that are forwarded to the BB seems to do a good job for me with regards to SPAM. For me, I have been putting up with the SPAM because I don't want delayed messages :-)
There is one SPAM app I noticed however, it is $49.95, which I thought was a bit steep. I will look for the link and add it to the thread just fyi.

Thanks for the info everyone.
I now have my personal domain email forwarded to Gmail. Gmail is now also setup in BIS...
So, we wait, and watch - lets see the outcome - I hate spam!

I have my personal e-mail forwarding to my BIS and get less then 5 spam's a day out of over 200 emails that come to it. On my BES server, I get over 200+ e-mails a day and less then 1% of them are spam. My personal domain's I won't forward to BIS because I get WAY too much e-mails coming to that, I wouldn't be able to do anything because it would be getting e-mails 24/7.
-
You get that many emails? It's a wonder you have time to do anything else besides read emails...
Are you just registered to lots of newsletters and the likes?
-
I'm on call 24/7/365 and support oversea's parts of our company and get a lot of e-mail from work. My personal account is due to a lot of mail lists that I either belong to or run.
I read my personal e-mails during lunch, breaks, and after the kids and wife are in bed at night mainly. I have Level 1 messages setup so I know what needs to be taken care of right away and what can wait.

SPAM app....
I referred to. It's not inexpensive however, I have read some very good reviews on it. Anyone out there have any feeling on an app like this managing SPAM on the BB? Sounds great but I would be interested in hearing others opinions.
