I have mentioned earlier that i am getting BB8900,
    yes i got it...
    brought from street on bombay...
    It is unlocked ...
but when it boots it shows logo of T-Mobile UK.

    one question....

    1. if i upgrade device software/firmware, do i have to unlock it again?
    2. if i re-install device software/firmware in nuke bb8900, do i have to unlock it again?

can some link me to some very nice BB basic page... i mean on some serious stuffs.

It is not unusual to see a carrier screen on startup, most BlackBerry ar sold through the various carriers.

If you use the internet upgrade tools, you will be treated as a T-Mobile UK customer. That will control the install optons including the choice of device OS software.

If you prefer to maintain your software manually, you will find the instruction posted with the links to available software.
