Skype Over home Wifi
I have just got the new Strom 2 with Vodafone, Although I do have a data plan for emails and unlimted internet access, I am wondering if there is a way I can connect to my home wifi network in order to use Skype.
I have seen some reference to using Skype on this forum but they are either very old aor they do not really address connecting to Skype from the Storm 2 through a home network.
Thanks

IM+ skype version 4 will have the ability to do that although it's hard to say when it will be released.

Thanks Mailyfesux ,
I have found a link IM+ for Skype, iPhone/iPod Touch version for this that is offering a 10 day trial, not sure if it is all compatible though, if not then I do have the Ipod Touch to use.
Thanks again

Currently no software supports true VoIP (Voice-Over-IP) on BlackBerry. With true I mean that everything from connection handshake to actual voice is transmitted as data rather than routed through the mobile network (and use your minutes). Technically there is nothing that forbids this functionality, but I heard from many developers that RIM have not released an API library for enabling this functionality on BlackBerry.
I find this a little sad too thinking that BlackBerry has always been and is the standard for communication, but does not have a true VoIP client available for it. Nothing heard from Skype themselves either since the last beta leak (which doesn't work at all). A BlackBerry client has been promised long ago, though I'm not sure if they are going to keep that promise or if the application will support true VoIP.
