Any speculations on how BlackBerry will round out their 2013 device launches?

    We have

    Z10 - January 2013
    Q10 - April 2013
    Q5 - June 2013

    What follows?

    My guess:
A10 - in time for Christmas
Z5 - Unknown if this is real, but seems logical
PlayBook successor ... big unknown as well

z5 makes sense i agree. As for the last i am guessing some form of a tablet but its still seems really up in the air in what size or if it will just be a dummy unit to use with another device.

Pure speculation - that it's a touch only equiv of the Q5. Sorta like the keyboard and touch curves that BlackBerry 7 has

I think the sixth device will be a smart watch.

How would it be innovation? The smartwatch already exists, so they haven't made it.

However the first company to make an aesthetically pleasing smartwatch (i.e not like a 1980's casio lookalike) would truly be doing well.

The smartwatch is already been done by some top players

    Sony

Apple is also looking to make one i think later this year. Pebble makes several good models as well.

BB needs to find avenues that are not against the biggest players in the game IMO. The car integration is a good one.

Was absolutely certain you had intended sarcasm.

But since its now clear you weren't being sarcastic:

Why make an assessment if you haven't been shown the benefits of one? Wait, see if it's actually true, try and then decide.

While there may be benefit. Does BBRY really need to make one? What is the market for them? Do they sell like hotcakes?

One of the new devices will not be another tablet.. TH himself has pretty much said that they are done with the tablet game, it's a market that they cannot-and do not want to compete in. BB is trying to figure out if it should develop/release BB10 on the PlayBook and they are strongly against it as the PlayBook is making them absolutely no money. They will push out BB10 to the PlayBook if they all of a sudden get a ton of sales and BBW purchases for it, but it's not looking very good at the moment.

Anyways, BB as a competitor in the tablet market doesn't make sense, and they know that. They are in the long run for "mobile computing" - aka making your phone eventually be your computer. So can you have a tablet like device running BB10 in the future? Yes.. But it will be a 3rd party company selling literally a piece of glass similar to a computer monitor, and your phone will do all of the heavy lifting, just using the wireless HDMI to make it work. - How cool will that be though? It will be a very low-cost screen as it wont have any components like a processor, etc. etc. etc. it will never get outdated really because whenever you upgrade your phone, you essentially have a 'new tablet', just have to spend the money you save on spare batteries for your phone (:

It is a good question though

If there are supposed to be 6 devices, and we only have 3 so far

So that leaves 3 to go

One of them is the a10

One of them is new bbos device (?)

So what is the third thing? We can guess it might be a z5, but can't really count on it

It's kind of a mystery right now

If they want to do a watch, they need to team up with someone like Nixon to do it. License the BB10 software to them and don't focus resources on something that is mostly a gimmick, in my opinion. FYI I don't think they should do a watch, just saying, if they did, they shouldn't do hardware+software, but rather license the software to be used by a hardware manufacturer.

As for the six devices, I think they'll succeed in at least announcing 5 of them - - - Z10/Q10/Q5 obviously... other two would be the A10 and a new Tablet/Laptop replacement device (possibly licensing the software to someone like Lenovo or Sony). I don't think anything beyond the A10 would be available in 2013, but they may announce it before year-end.

The 6th device is likely a slider, but they're probably not going to have enough time/resources to get it out before spring/summer 2014. Trying to be realistic!
