SIM card
ok, so ive researched it.......what i need is actual facts.......ok with that said here we go....
1. If i get an AT&T data sim (do they have a prepaid version) or basic prepaid SIM card will it work?
2. i have the link bookmarked for eliminating the vender xml and service book downloads (doing this will i still be able to use BB messenger and all the other features such as GPS maps, email, browser,..etc.....)
if you gotta be a smart a** then dont bother with answering...
basically wanna use my storm 2 as a prepay with all the features i got with contract...messenger, sms, mms, browser, email, and calls (like anyone actually uses thier phone for that :D)
email - [email protected]
or reply here.....thanks in advance....

1. No they don't have a prepaid blackberry data sim. A basic one will get you calls and text.
2. Deleting vendor file does nothing for you in this situation. Even if you have the service books you will still need a BlackBerry Data Plan to use many features (BBM, email).
Your GPS probably won't work very well either (maybe a 3rd party one will) because it needs data to download maps.
You will be able to browse while on the wifi though. Set the browser to Hotspot and it will work on wifi. Bolt or OperaMini will also work.
Basically, with what your wanting to do you need a data plan.

1) AT&T has a prepaid service called GoPhone. This will give you calls and text ONLY.
2) Without a proper BlackBerry data plan BBM is not an option. It won't work.
3) Saying you don't want answers from smartasses is insulting people
in advance. I almost did not respond to this thread just because of your attitude.
Do better in the future.
4) You will be able to call and text. That's it. All the messenger apps require a
data plan. As does the browser, email and MMS and definitely GPS.
No way around that. Did you actually research this phone and it's requirements
prior to purchase.
5) Yes, people use their PHONE to make PHONE CALLS. Why would
anyone buy a PHONE, pay for voice minutes and not use them

Are you trying to use a GSM sim on a CDMA phone? Is your CDMA phone unlocked? Hope my post is not a smart axx Q but I find myself rather quite a dumb axx.

If your going abroad then look into plans in the country your traveling to. Some carriers overseas do offer BlackBerry plans on prepaid.
But here in the states, no, there's no prepaid BlackBerry Plan and there's no better deal out there. If you want the services that BlackBerry offers then you must pay for it. There's no way around it, you can't get them for free.

If you want to use data on a pre-paid SIM card make sure you have the APN set correctly (ask the service provider you got the SIM card from)
