Just wondering if you think it is worth it to get the warranty on a BB Curve.
Thanks!!!!
I paid $250 for my curve and that's not with the rebate. I'm prone for either losing or droping phones so yeah, $7 a month is well worth it for me.

I did not but as a habit do not buy extended warranties and etc. on cars, appliances, and computer equipment.

Read some of the horrible threads about Blackberrys getting wet and then go ask your insurance company if they will cover that too. Of so, I'd pay the extra for insurance. A wet BlackBerry = a dead BlackBerry = a large bill.
Buy the insurance or you might regret it later.
Yes, insurance!!! Yess!!!!

i buy mine at futurshop in canada. for 3 years i get a warranty for $100. i have the bb8830 right now at a price of $650. so when a new phone comes out after a year and something is wrong with mine i get a brand new phone. and all i have to do is pay for another 3yr warranty. thats if they are being stubborn and dont want to keep my old warranty valid. but either way its a great deal for me since i use my phone 24/7
A warranty is definitly worth having!! I have it on my Curve.
Yes Yes Yes!
I've had five cell phones in the last six years. My Berry is the first one I insured....with good reason.
The Nokia brick was plain, boring, but it did the job right up until my contract expired and I upgraded to a small Samsung flip phone.
The Samsung lasted 10 1/2 months until the extendable antenna broke off with just six weeks to go before I was supposed to renew my contract. The manager at the AT&T store wouldn't do anything to help me out and insisted that I'd either have to wait for my contract to run out or buy a new phone at retail price. It ended up being cheaper to pay the ETF and switch to Verizon...which led me to another shiny new Samsung flip phone - this time with a fixed antenna.
That phone managed to make it one year and eight months when it committed suicide by jumping into the toilet. The Verizon store manager was much nicer than the guy at AT&T and let me do an early renewal so I could get my new phone with the full discount. I settled on a spiffy red Motorola KRZR.
To be honest I was really happy with the Motorola, but eventually decided I needed more data availability than it offered. So I strong armed the manager at a different store and bought my Berry.
Long story short - out of five phones, two of them were damaged beyond repair. That's works out to 40%. The first four phones were relatively "cheap" - meaning they would cost around $250 to replace at retail prices. The BlackBerry is MUCH more expensive, plus there's a lot more that could go wrong with it. Since I'm really not in a possition to shell out the $500 or so that it would cost to replace it, IMO insurance of some sort is mandatory.

That was funny as he11!! Are you sure you didn't give it a little nudge to commit the suicide in the toilet?? If not, I guess the poor thing just couldn't take living anymore. LMAO!!!

I like the peace of mind - $495 is a lot to come up with if you're not expecting it

Well, I maybe kinda sorta bumped it with my elbow before it jumped :D.
The worst part was having to reach down there and grab it. My initial though was to just watch it go down the drain, but then I figured it'd probably clog things up rather badly and I'd end up having to pay a plumber to come fish it back out. So I gritted my teeth and made the plunge.
And then thoroughly washed my hands and the phone......twice.
And then added a liberal amount of Purell for good measure.
