    Is there a way to create a shortcut (either one key or one icon) to SMS inbox?

    (if that makes a difference, that's on a 8300 series)

    I assume you mean seperating it out from your other messages.
    Try this: messages/ options/General Options/ sms and email inboxes.... set this to seperate.
