Typing "mypin" in any text field will bring up your pin number. For bb10 devices, not sure about others

Trying to figure out why so many people are having so much trouble... my Niece, on an iPhone on MTS, got BBM. within 5 minutes I was added on my z10 on Rogers and, then my wife on her z10 on MTS.

I'm now getting requests from friends on other platforms without any issues. There must be something else???

Suggesting nothing. I'm no tech guy by any stretch but, I've not had an issue. I have the 10.2 now and, it's fantastic. I'm not sure where all the issues are coming from.

I only have BlackBerry phones so hopefully someone can answer this. Can you use the NFC bump method to add contacts on the Android version of BBM? That's how I usually add contacts BlackBerry to BlackBerry.

That's how BlackBerry works most of the time...Stupid and ignorant...They make great products but demonstrate total lack of common sense. Agree with OP

I don't think we can assume that because something works for you it works for everyone.

If you select invite by pin, doesn't it take you to a screen to enter the persons pin?

Discovered my niece could only add by pin if all the letters in the pin were typed in uppercase. Works like a charm now. Odd no?

They need to make YOUR PIN appear more readily in the app. If I'm not mistaken, on BB10, you have to go to the phone's settings, and then to hardware, to get that info. PIN needs to be readily available in BBM, and you need to have the option to just type in someone else's PIN and add them as a contact. I fooled with BBM for a while yesterday and it doesn't seem that either of these functionalities are present.
To find your pin on BB10 easily, swipe up from bezel with two fingers and type "mypin" your pin shows up. I've done this way for adding someone start typing their pin (contact) in search and you then have the option to just send a request to add the person.

I invited my friend and it says click here to download and ask that person to invite you again. Why not just make one link for install and add?

Secondly I sent a text to invite and he can't click on the pin to add. Why the hell not? You should be able to add people by simply clicking on pin. What do you expect me to do, write down the pin? Now he has to invite me back and I can click on the pin then invite him again!

Man that's pretty ridiculous. I'm trying hard to get my friends to use a new platform and BlackBerry you're not making it easy.

PS sorry for venting here instead of BlackBerry because BlackBerry is too dumb to have an app for feedbacks and suggestions.

Obviously you are refering to a ios or android user so go on those forums and people there why there phones can't do simple action lika all BB's can.

I tried just entering a pin and it wouldn't work, I had them invite me via txt, I long pressed the pin:... and chose invite... then it sent them an invite which they excepted. tell me that's not complicated! Anyway I did notice that when I did the invite it put "pin:......" into the contact field, so maybe in the future I'll try typing the word pin: before their pin. just the pin# did not work. It was an iPhone user I was trying to add.
